Police Investigate Crash on Garvey Avenue in El Monte

EL MONTE, CA (September 29, 2026)— Two people were injured Tuesday morning after a car crashed through the entrance of a Food4Less supermarket in El Monte, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Garvey Avenue.

According to the fire department, the vehicle struck two people inside or near the store entrance.

Emergency personnel transported one of the injured people to a hospital.

Authorities had not immediately released that person’s age, gender, or medical condition.

Images from the scene showed the car completely inside the front entrance of the Food4Less store, with significant damage visible around the storefront.

Los Angeles County Fire Department crews responded to the scene and cleared the area at approximately 8:34 a.m., according to a fire department inspector.

The inspector said the crash did not cause substantial structural damage to the building.
