Overturned Semi-Truck Shuts Down After Crash on Interstate 45 in [Ellis County, TX] 

ELLIS COUNTY, TX (November 7, 2025) – A serious overnight crash on Interstate 45 involving an overturned semi-truck shut down all northbound lanes of Interstate 45 near Parker Hill Road early Friday morning, causing major traffic delays heading into the Dallas area.

According to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred just before midnight. A semi-truck pulling a trailer overturned, trapping both occupants inside the cab. 

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, and one of the victims was rescued quickly. 

However, the second individual required an extensive extrication process, which lasted several hours.

That second occupant was ultimately freed from the wreckage around 3:30 a.m. and airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital for treatment. 

The nature and extent of their injuries have not yet been disclosed.

As of 5:00 a.m., Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) cameras showed the northbound lanes of I-45 still fully closed, with crews working to upright the semi and clear debris ahead of the morning commute. 

Authorities have not confirmed a timeline for reopening the lanes, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
