The incident began at approximately 9:15 p.m. when officers received a report of a shoplifting incident on Westheimer Road.

Police later located a vehicle matching the suspect description and attempted a traffic stop near South Rice Avenue and Westpark Drive.

According to investigators, the driver did not stop and instead led officers on a pursuit. The vehicle traveled northbound on Interstate 69 and was involved in a minor collision with another vehicle as it approached the Interstate 45 interchange.
