Morgan County Crash Seriously Injures 2 People
Osage Beach, MO (September 9, 2026) — Two people suffered critical injuries Saturday afternoon after a two-vehicle collision on Route J near Swan Drive.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2013 Toyota Scion was traveling north when its driver slowed to make a left turn. A northbound 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 attempted to pass the Toyota by entering the southbound lane but struck the Toyota as it turned.
Both vehicles left the roadway and came to a stop nearby.
The 43-year-old Toyota driver from Osage Beach and his 41-year-old female passenger from Lake Ozark suffered critical injuries. Medical crews airlifted both victims to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
Authorities reported that the Toyota driver and Dodge driver were not wearing seat belts, while the Toyota passenger was restrained.
Focus on the Road
Millions of people take to the roads for work, school, errands, or leisure. While many of these trips are uneventful, accidents can happen in the blink of an eye. Traffic accidents can change lives in an instant, causing physical injuries, emotional trauma, and financial hardship.
Wearing your seatbelt is the simplest and most effective way to protect yourself in an accident. It can reduce the risk of serious injury or death by up to 50%.
Similarly, texting, talking on the phone, eating, or doing anything else that takes your eyes off the road for even a second can have disastrous consequences. Keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.
Always drive cautiously and be aware of road conditions to prevent accidents. Quick and safe responses can save lives in emergencies.
Always wear a seat belt, stay alert, and allow plenty of space when approaching vehicles that are slowing or turning. If you suffer injuries because of another driver’s actions, consider speaking with a personal injury attorney about your legal options.
