Driver Detained After Two-Vehicle Crash in South Abilene

Abilene, TX (August 29, 2025) On Thursday afternoon, a two-vehicle crash on Highland Avenue in South Abilene sent at least one person to the hospital.

According to authorities, the collision happened at the intersection of Buffalo Gap Road and Highland Avenue.

Authorities reported that occupants of the car were not seriously injured, but one individual was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

Abilene police took the driver of the truck into custody at the scene, noting that intoxication may have contributed to the crash.
