Oxnard Pedestrian Identified After Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision Near Teal Club Road

Oxnard, CA (July 13, 2026) — Authorities have identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by two vehicles in Oxnard on July 6 as 33-year-old Tyler Black, a resident of Oxnard.

The fatal collision happened around 4:45 a.m. on Victoria Avenue south of Teal Club Road. Emergency responders found Black with severe injuries in the northbound lanes of the roadway. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

Investigators determined that a northbound 2005 Honda Accord struck Black first. After the initial impact, he remained in the roadway and was then hit by a second northbound vehicle, a 2019 Ford Raptor, whose driver was unable to avoid the collision.

Police said both drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities also learned that someone had called 911 shortly before the crash to report a pedestrian walking in the roadway.

Investigators do not believe speed, alcohol, or drugs contributed to the collision. The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office said Black’s official cause and manner of death remain pending. The investigation continues, and police are asking anyone with information to contact the Oxnard Police Department.
