2-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 605 Kills Driver [Pico Rivera, CA]

Pico Rivera, CA (July 26, 2026) — On Friday, a 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 605 involving a pickup truck and a big rig claimed a life.

The crash happened on the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway near Beverly Boulevard in Pico Rivera at approximately 2:20 a.m. California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene and pronounced the pickup driver dead. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.

The collision left the pickup truck heavily damaged and resting on its side, while the big rig came to a stop nearby.

The incident prompted the closure of all northbound lanes as emergency crews worked at the scene. Traffic was diverted to Beverly Boulevard, and officials issued a SigAlert. One lane reopened shortly afterward, and all lanes were back open by around 6 a.m.
