1 Person Dead in Harris County Auto Accident on State Highway 99 near Kuykendahl Road

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (September 28, 2025) – Saturday morning, a fiery vehicle crash on State Highway 99 near Kuykendahl Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 9:00 a.m. on State Highway 99 near Kuykendahl Road.

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, a work van failed to negotiate a curve, collided with a metal guardrail, and erupted into flames.

Moreover, responders pronounced a passenger of the vehicle dead at the scene. Then, paramedics airlifted the driver of the vehicle to a hospital with critical injuries.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that a witness sustained burns while attempting to help the occupants out of the vehicle and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the crash closed State Highway 99 westbound but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office continued investigating the crash.
