San Antonio Auto Accident on 16000 Griffin Road
SAN ANTONIO, TX (July 19, 2026) – Friday, an alarming stolen vehicle pursuit crash on 16000 Griffin Road led to injuries.
The incident happened at around 6:00 p.m. on 16000 Griffin Road.
Deputies launched a pursuit after responding to a reported aggravated robbery in which a firearm was allegedly displayed and a Dodge Challenger was stolen.
Authorities said a Von Ormy Police Department officer spotted the stolen vehicle leaving the area on Interstate 35. The driver refused to stop, leading to a pursuit.
The chase ended near the intersection of Quintana Road and West Gerald Avenue when the stolen vehicle crashed. Four people fled on foot. Three suspects were taken into custody with assistance from the San Antonio Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Von Ormy Police Department. One suspect remains at large.
Authorities said the fleeing vehicle struck additional vehicles during the incident. Several injuries were reported, but officials said they were not considered life-threatening.
Charges are pending, and the investigation remains ongoing.
