Vicente Gaytan Killed in Lyon Street Pedestrian Accident [Laredo, TX]

Laredo, TX (June 23, 2024) – 76-year-old Vicente Gaytan lost his life following a Lyon Street pedestrian accident Tuesday.

The fatal crash happened just before 7 p.m. at the intersection with Frost Street.

Troopers said Gaytan was hit by a U-Haul van and its trailer while he was crossing the intersection at a red light.

However, when the light turned green, the van moved and dragged Gaytan for about six blocks.

The authorities later located the U-Haul van and trailer at a rental business at 4800 San Dario Avenue. 

The involved driver is cooperating with the investigation.
