Arlington Woman Dies After Moped Collision Near Carter Drive

Arlington, TX (March 21, 2026) — A 23-year-old Arlington woman, Victoria Johanna Curtis, died after a devastating crash involving her moped and a car earlier this month.

The collision happened around 8:36 a.m. on March 12 in the 2400 block of Bush Drive, near Carter Drive and Sunflower Drive. Curtis was riding a 2026 Yamaha Vino moped northbound on Carter Drive when a 2014 Nissan Sentra pulled out from an alley and entered her path.

As the vehicle moved into the roadway, Curtis attempted to avoid a direct collision by laying down her moped. She fell onto the pavement, and the car ran over her during the incident.

Emergency responders transported Curtis to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, she later died from her injuries.

Curtis, a 2020 graduate of Juan Seguin High School, was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and continues to cooperate with investigators. Authorities have not filed charges, and the case remains under review.
