Child Hospitalized After Boat Crash at Town Creek Cove in Shasta Lake

SHASTA LAKE, CA (June 19, 2026) — 47-year-old Vingenzo Anthony Colletti died in a boat crash at Town Creek Cove into the shoreline of Shasta Lake on Thursday evening, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened around 5:21 p.m. at Town Creek Cove on the Sulanharas Creek arm of the lake.

Officials said the boat struck the shore and threw three people into the water: an adult man, an adult woman, and a child.

People on a nearby boat helped rescue the victims and brought them to Bridge Bay Marina. Emergency personnel later transported the man and child to a hospital.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as Vingenzo Anthony Colletti, 47, of Palo Cedro. Authorities said he was later pronounced dead.

Deputies said the child was believed to be wearing a life jacket at the time of the crash. The two adults were reportedly not wearing life jackets.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Boating Safety Unit and the Shasta County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the cause of the fatal boating crash.
