Driver Airlifted After Serious Crash Involving Semi on Highway 115 Near Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs, CO (October 17, 2025) — On Wednesday afternoon, a 52-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the hospital after a collision on Highway 115.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, the shocking incident happened around 1:45 p.m. near milepost 132, close to Turkey Canyon Ranch Road.

Reports say that frightening incident involved a semi-truck and a Honda Civic.

Investigators said the driver of a Honda Civic tried to pass a semi-truck on the shoulder but lost control. The Honda struck a concrete barrier, collided with the semi, and then veered off the roadway down an embankment.

Emergency responders airlifted the Honda driver due to the severity of his injuries, while the 60-year-old semi-truck driver was unharmed.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
