1 Dead in Discovery Bay Watercraft Incident at Marina Launch Ramp

DISCOVERY BAY, CA (March 4, 2026) – Sunday afternoon, a man died in a horrific watercraft accident at Marina Launch Ramp.

The incident happened at about 1:30 p.m. at the Marina Launch Ramp.

Deputies responded to a report that a watercraft carrying three people had overturned.

The sheriff’s office said two occupants swam to a dock. The third, identified only as a man who could not swim and was not wearing a life jacket, went under the water. Search teams recovered him about two hours later.

His name was not released. The sheriff’s office said the Marine Patrol was investigating the fatal vessel accident.
