Los Angeles County, CA (October 17, 2025) – A crash on 5 Freeway involving a green SUV and a big rig on the northbound 5 Freeway near McBean Parkway left a female driver unconscious on Thursday afternoon.

The crash was reported around 1:30 p.m., prompting a swift response from emergency crews. 

Fire Department spokesperson Saddulah Shaikh confirmed that at least one person was transported to a nearby hospital.

CHP logs indicate that the SUV collided with the rear of the big rig, causing serious injuries to the female driver. She was reportedly found unconscious at the scene.

The No. 3 and No. 4 lanes of the northbound freeway were blocked for an extended period as authorities worked to assist victims and clear the scene. 

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
