70-Year-Old Woman Dies in Traffic Accident on Pony Express Trail [El Dorado County, CA]

El Dorado County, CA (May 16, 2026) – A 70-year-old woman lost her life in a traffic accident on Pony Express Trail Wednesday night.

It was before 9 p.m. when the deadly crash happened in Pollock Pines.

CHP said the woman was crossing the road on her mobility scooter when a Chevy pickup struck her.

Sadly, the woman died in the crash.

Moreover, the 20-year-old man who was driving the pickup remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Police do not suspect DUI as a factor in the deadly crash.
