55-Year-Old Woman Hurt in Horrific Collision on Route BB [Cameron, MO]

Cameron, MO (June 06, 2025) – A 55-year-old female driver was hurt after a frightening head-on collision on Route BB Wednesday evening.

According to authorities, the shocking crash happened around 5:10 p.m. near Tri-County Line Road, just east of Cameron.

Reports say that a 19-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries after dropping her cellphone and veering into oncoming traffic on Route BB.

Authorities say that the teen was driving a 2014 Ford Focus eastbound when she attempted to retrieve her phone while rounding a curve. Her vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound 2018 Lincoln MKX driven by a 55-year-old woman.

Emergency crews transported the teen to Liberty Hospital with serious injuries. The other driver sustained minor injuries and went to Cameron Regional Medical Center by private vehicle.

Both drivers wore seatbelts, and the crash totaled both vehicles. The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
