Troopers Search for Suspect Driver in Interstate 70 Solo-Vehicle Crash
Clear Creek County, CO (February 24, 2026) – A 41-year-old woman was injured following a hit-and-run crash on I-70 on Friday.
The solo-vehicle crash happened on milepost 237 just before 6 p.m. on February 20.
Officers said a silver 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier was traveling west on the freeway when it left the right side of the roadway and struck boulders and a rock wall.
The female passenger was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the male driver, described as a white man, around 5 feet 6 inches tall, with blond hair, hazel eyes, and facial hair, fled on foot with a dog.
Troopers said the dog is a blue and gray medium to large-sized dog.
