Injuries Reported in Creighton Traffic Crash on Missouri Highway 7

CREIGHTON, MO (January 9, 2025) – Wednesday afternoon, an alarming auto accident on Missouri Highway 7 injured a woman.

The incident occurred at about 2:20 p.m. on southbound Missouri Highway 8 near an unmarked road, about 2 miles north of Creighton, with reports of a 2-vehicle crash.

First responders arrived at the scene of a crash involving a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country and a 2022 International semi-truck.

Authorities said a 35-year-old woman from Pleasant Hill, Iowa, was driving the van southbound and attempting to pass the semi-truck, which was operated by a 32-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man. While passing, the van lost control on an icy patch, leading to a collision where the semi struck the driver’s side of the van.

An 82-year-old woman from Altoona, Iowa, who was a passenger in the van, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Cass Regional Medical Center for treatment. Both drivers were uninjured.

Investigators confirmed that all individuals involved were wearing seatbelts. The van was totaled, while the semi-truck sustained minor damage. No additional details have been released at this time.
