22-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized After Crash on Ozark Road in St. Francois County
ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO (February 19, 2026)— A serious crash on Ozark Road involving a box truck left one woman critically injured on Wednesday afternoon in St. Francois County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Troopers reported that the collision occurred around 1:45 p.m. on Ozark Road near Overall Road.
A 2020 Ford box truck traveled off the right side of the roadway for reasons that remain under investigation.
As the vehicle left the roadway, the front right portion of the truck struck a swinging pole gate.
The gate pierced the front of the truck, causing extensive damage to the vehicle.
Authorities identified the driver as a 22-year-old man from East Prairie. He did not sustain injuries in the crash.
A 22-year-old female passenger from Kennett, however, suffered serious injuries.
Emergency responders transported her from the scene by medical helicopter to Barnes-Jewish Hospital for urgent treatment.
Officials noted that the driver was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.
Crews towed the heavily damaged truck from the scene following the incident.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
