Woman Hospitalized After Crash on Culebra Road in San Antonio

San Antonio, TX (May 2, 2025) – A woman sustained injuries in a crash on Culebra Road involving a police officer late Thursday night.

A San Antonio police officer rear-ended a vehicle while responding to a separate crash call on the Northwest Side, causing a chain-reaction collision that involved a third car, according to SAPD.

The incident occurred just before 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Culebra Road and Arcadia Creek. 

Police stated that the officer was en route to a crash near Alamo Ranch when the patrol car hydroplaned due to road conditions. 

The officer’s vehicle struck a white sedan, pushing it into a black sedan ahead.

Emergency responders transported a woman from the white sedan to the hospital, where she was listed in stable condition. 

Officers at the scene cited the driver of the black sedan for driving without insurance.

Although the officer was not seriously hurt, he did report experiencing skin irritation caused by the deployment of the airbag.
