Fresno, CA (April 11, 2025) – A woman sustained injuries in a crash on Shields Avenue on Friday morning.

The collision occurred shortly after 7 a.m. in front of a pharmacy on Shields Avenue near First Street.

 According to officers, the woman suddenly stepped into the roadway, which led to the crash.

Emergency crews responded quickly, blocking one eastbound lane of Shields Avenue to manage the scene and investigate the incident. 

Authorities reopened the lane within an hour.

The woman is expected to recover from her injuries. 

Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
