Police Investigate Crash on Second Street in Taft
Taft, CA (December 22, 2025) – A woman sustained major injuries Monday morning in a crash on Second Street after an SUV collided with a two-axle box truck.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene at approximately 7:40 a.m. and provided immediate medical care to the woman driving the SUV.
Due to the severity of her injuries, emergency crews transported her to Taft Airport, where an air ambulance flew her to a Bakersfield hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the box truck did not suffer serious injuries.
The collision blocked traffic at the intersection.
Authorities found the damaged SUV stopped in the middle of Kern Street, while the box truck continued west after the impact and struck a metal post in front of a building along Kern Street.
Crews worked to clear the wreckage and reopen the roadway as the investigation continued.
