78-Year-Old Woman Seriously Injured in Vehicle-Pedestrian Crash on 42nd Street [Odessa, TX]

Police Investigate Auto-Pedestrian Crash on 42nd Street

ODESSA, TX (November 7, 2025) – A 78-year-old woman sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a crash on  42nd Street early Wednesday morning.

According to the Odessa Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 6:51 a.m. near the intersection of 42nd Street and Ranchland Drive.

Investigators say a 72-year-old woman was driving a gray Jeep Compass eastbound when she struck the pedestrian, who was crossing 42nd Street southbound — outside of a designated crosswalk.

Emergency responders quickly arrived on scene and transported the injured woman to Medical Center Hospital for treatment of serious, but unspecified, injuries.

Police have not indicated whether any citations have been issued. 

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
