Mother and Two Children Hospitalized After Fiery Crash on West Mount Houston at Cordoba in Houston

Houston, TX (September 26, 2025) – A fiery crash on West Mount Houston at Cordoba in north Harris County sent a mother and her two children to the hospital Thursday night.

The collision occurred just before 9 p.m. near W. Mount Houston and Cordoba. 

The Northwest Fire Department, Harris County Precinct 1 deputies, and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

First responders found a white sedan engulfed in flames, but all occupants had safely escaped without injuries. In the second vehicle, two adults were trapped.

Firefighters freed them within about 10 minutes and transported both to a hospital in stable condition.

Authorities said two children who were in the car were not injured but were taken to the hospital to stay with their mother, who was also hospitalized.

Precinct 1 deputies closed inbound lanes while investigating the crash.

Officials have not released information about the cause of the collision or whether charges will be filed.
