1 Injured in 3-Vehicle Crash on Highway 119 in Boulder County
Boulder County, CO (July 15, 2026) – One person died, and another suffered injuries in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 119 near Nederland on Wednesday evening, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The collision occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. when a Dodge Ram pickup truck towing a trailer was traveling eastbound on Highway 119.
Investigators said the pickup’s brakes failed, causing the trailer to cross into the westbound lanes, where it collided with a Toyota Sienna.
The impact forced the Sienna off the roadway, where it struck large rocks and a mailbox.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the pickup continued eastbound, and the trailer then struck the front of a Hyundai Ioniq. The impact pushed the Hyundai into a rocky embankment.
Authorities said the 37-year-old woman driving the Hyundai, a resident of Nederland, died at the scene.
Emergency responders transported the 22-year-old man driving the Toyota Sienna, who is from Ward, to a hospital with injuries.
The 27-year-old Thornton man driving the Dodge Ram was not injured.
The crash closed Highway 119 overnight before officials reopened the roadway at approximately 4:15 a.m. Thursday.
The Colorado State Patrol continues to investigate the collision.
