1 Dead in Fresno County Bicycle Accident on Watts Valley Road

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (October 3, 2022) – Sunday morning, a 51-year-old woman died in a bicycle crash on Watts Valley Road in Fresno County.
 
The incident happened just before 10:30 a.m. on Watts Valley Road in Fresno County.
 
According to reports, a 45-year-old man drove an eastbound car on Watts Valley Road. Meanwhile, on that same stretch, a female bicyclist rode west.
 
As the car tried to negotiate a curve in the roadway, his car veered into the westbound lane directly into the path of the cyclist.
 
Then, the vehicle crashed with the bicyclist head-on. As a result, the female bicyclist sustained critical injuries and officers pronounced her dead at the scene.
 
CHP does not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
 
Meanwhile, officers noted that the rider wore a bicycle helmet.
 
Moreover, the vehicle driver suffered no injuries.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
