2 Injured After Fatal Crash on Honeycutt Road in Maricopa

MARICOPA, AZ (April 29, 2026 )— A head-on crash on Honeycutt Road in Pinal County late Tuesday night killed one woman and left two others hospitalized, according to Maricopa police.

The collision happened shortly before 10 p.m. near Honeycutt Road and White and Parker Road in Maricopa. Police said a Nissan Xterra and a Honda CRV collided head-on in the westbound lanes of Honeycutt Road.

Investigators believe a 21-year-old woman driving the Nissan traveled eastbound before drifting into the westbound lanes. The Nissan then struck the Honda CRV head-on.

Emergency responders rushed the 38-year-old woman driving the Honda CRV to the hospital with critical injuries. She later died. Authorities have not released her name pending notification of her family.

Police said the Nissan driver remains in stable condition. Her passenger, a 20-year-old woman, remains in critical condition.

Authorities believe drugs or alcohol may have contributed to the crash. Police have not announced any arrests.

The Pinal County Vehicular Crimes Unit is helping Maricopa police investigate the fatal collision.
