Police Search the Hit-And-Run Driver after Crash on Cornelia Avenue in Fresno

Fresno, CA (May 12, 2022) – Early Friday morning, police found a woman dead after a suspected hit-and-run crash on Cornelia Avenue.

Fresno Police responded to the La Quinta Inn and Suites by Wyndham on Cornelia Avenue at around 1:30 a.m.

The person who reported the incident said they saw a pickup with significant damage backing out of a space at the hotel.

Moreover, when the truck then drove off, they found the body on the ground and immediately called 911.

Police then responded and connected this incident to the hit and run that happened several miles away. The hotel security video captured both the driver and the vehicle.

Investigators described the vehicle as a newer model, grey of silver full size, crew cab, Chevy Silverado. The truck has a moon roof, a light bar, and a silver toolbox in the bed and also has significant front-end damage due to the crash.

The victim is a 29-year-old woman that was pushing a shopping cart and walking a dog on a leash.

The Fresno Police Department is asking our community for help in identifying the suspect in this crime.
