Bakersfield Collision Under Investigation

Bakersfield, CA (July 3, 2024) – A woman was killed in a scooter accident on Ridgecrest Boulevard early Monday morning.

CHP officers responded at around 12:47 a.m. to the collision west of Mahan Street.

Troopers said a 30-year-old Inyokern man was driving an eastbound 2012 Mazda 6 on Ridgecrest Boulevard toward the victim’s back.

The victim was operating her electric scooter within the eastbound lane of the same road when she was rear-ended by the Mazda.

CHP officers said the Mazda driver stopped and called for help.

Meanwhile, investigators do not suspect alcohol as be a factor in the accident.
