Police Investigate Fatal Crash Near Sonoma Boulevard and Kentucky Street in Vallejo

VALLEJO, CA (May 7, 2026) — A woman died in a crash near Sonoma Boulevard and Kentucky Street on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Vallejo Police Department, officers received a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision at about 1:49 p.m. near Sonoma Boulevard and Kentucky Street.

When police arrived, medics were treating the woman in the roadway. Emergency responders transported her to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Authorities have not released her identity.

Police said the preliminary investigation shows the woman was riding a scooter in the northbound lanes of Sonoma Boulevard near Kentucky Street when she appeared to lose control and fall into the roadway. A passing vehicle then struck her.

Investigators said driving under the influence does not appear to be a factor at this time.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with detectives.

Police said the crash marks Vallejo’s seventh fatal traffic collision of the year.
