Driver Hospitalized After Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 63 in Mason County

Macon County, MO (November 12, 2025) — A 65-year-old woman from St. Louis sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 63 north of Macon Wednesday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred approximately seven miles north of Macon when the woman, driving a 2011 Toyota Sienna, struck a deer, causing her vehicle to become disabled in the northbound lane.

Shortly after, a 2017 Ford Explorer driven by a 49-year-old man from Kirksville collided with the front driver’s side of the stalled Sienna while also traveling northbound.

Emergency responders transported the injured woman to Northeast Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

Authorities confirmed that both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.

The driver of the Ford Explorer was not injured, but both vehicles were declared totaled at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
