STRASBURG, CO (November 19, 2025) – Tuesday morning, a worker was injured in a crippling hit-and-run crash on Interstate 70 near Mile Marker 310.

The incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. on Interstate 70 near mile marker 310, east of Strasburg in Arapahoe County.

CSP said a 58-year-old CDOT worker was repairing a guardrail on the left shoulder of the eastbound lanes when a Ford F-150 drifted onto the shoulder, hitting him before crashing into a cement barrier.

The driver, a 25-year-old man, left the scene. Troopers later found the truck abandoned nearby, and the driver was located in a nearby town and taken into custody.

He is being held on suspicion of leaving the scene of a crash involving serious injuries and careless driving, causing injuries to a vulnerable road user.

Reports said the worker was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
