D’Juan Brown, Douglas McClain, and Sweta Burathoki Killed in Wrong-Way Crash [Solano County, CA]

Solano County, CA (January 19, 2026) — D’Juan Brown, 21, of Antioch; Douglas McClain, 21; and Sweta Burathoki, 34, of Vacaville lost their lives early Sunday morning in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 80 in Solano County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened around 2 a.m. on westbound I-80 east of the Cordelia Weigh Station.

Authorities said two men traveling in a white Dodge Charger sedan and a woman riding in a black Land Rover Discovery SUV were killed in the crash.

Investigators have not yet determined which vehicle was traveling the wrong direction, though witnesses reportedly described the wrong-way vehicle as a light-colored sedan. Officials said it remains unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role, and weather conditions such as fog were not considered a factor.

Troopers initially responded to reports of a four-vehicle crash but later confirmed the scene involved two separate collisions. The first crash resulted in the fatalities. The second crash involved a Tesla Model Y and a Toyota Tacoma. The Toyota driver suffered suspected minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, while the Tesla driver was not hurt.

The crash forced all westbound lanes of I-80 to close for several hours as investigators processed the scene. Traffic was diverted before lanes reopened later that morning.
