Wrong-Way Driver Faces Intoxication Manslaughter Charge After Fatal San Antonio Crash

San Antonio, TX (August 29, 2025) Early Friday morning, a wrong-way crash on Wurzbach Parkway left one person dead and police arrested the other driver on an intoxication manslaughter charge.

According to authorities, the collision happened around 3:15 a.m. in the 16300 block near Starcrest Drive.

Investigators said a 30-year-old man was driving east in the westbound lanes when his truck struck another vehicle head-on.

The second driver died at the scene. The victim’s identity will be released by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Paramedics transported the suspect to the hospital for injuries, where officers determined he was intoxicated. Police later arrested and charged him.

Authorities closed two westbound lanes for several hours but reopened the roadway by 7:15 a.m.
