Male Juveline Struck and Injured by Vehicle in Lake Elsinore

LAKE ELSINORE, CA (December 12, 2018) — A young man is now in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle in an intersection in Lake Elsinore Tuesday morning.

According to the CalFire Riverside and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, a vehicle struck a male juvenile at Riverside Drive and Eisenhower Drive at about 6:05 a.m. Tuesday.

The minor was transported to a nearby hospital trauma center and was reported to be in critical condition. Officials said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene after the accident and cooperated with the investigators. Drugs or alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.

The accident prompted the closure of Riverside Drive and Eisenhower Drive in both directions until 11 a.m.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
