Wasco Fatal Big Rig Accident on Highway 43 Leaves Two Dead

 
WASCO, CA (October 1, 2020) – On Wednesday morning, Yuleny Castrejon Diaz, 29, and Martha Martinez-Rojas, 31 died in a tractor truck crash on Highway 43 in Wasco.
 
At about 6:28 a.m., a truck tractor pulling a set of bottom dump trailers traveled south on Highway 43. As the truck approached the intersection of McCombs Avenue, a westbound Honda Civic drove across the intersection.
 
Then, the Honda crossed into the path of the truck.
 
Unfortunately, the truck driver couldn’t avoid the crash and hit the Honda’s passenger side. As a result, both female occupants in the Honda were trapped under the truck and sustained fatal injuries.
 
The authorities declared them dead at the scene.
 
Later reports identified the two women as Bakersfield residents, Martha Martinez-Rojas and Yuleny Castrejon Diaz.
 
Furthermore, the fatal crash led to the closure of Highway 43. However, the road has since reopened.
